architect under supervision of David Cole. Working on the design development using Rhino and Grasshopper and researching structural design from an architectural perspective.
The Red Cross expressed the ambition to build a national basketball court for disabled people in a town in Cambodia, Battambang. At the moment, the national team in Battambang is practicing in the heat and it would be good if they had a
protected place to practice. Building Trust worked together with international engineers to design a strong tunnel dome out of bamboo, that would be big enough to cover an official field. Allowing wind to blow through but to protect from rain and sun. During this project I learned a lot more about the physical characteristics of bamboo, how to make connections, how to engineer a big design like this and to think about how to build it, as we would have to build it ourselves.
