As a Dutch in Cambodia, having a Dutch client, I automatically became the project architect of the project. The client had found us because of our bamboo experience but unfortunately we couldn't use bamboo in the outskirts of Amsterdam for the intended use of reusing old synagoge window frames. Therefore I designed a steel construction which was built by a Dutch contractor. The purpose of the project was to make a space that was intended as a meditation place, capturing all the colors of the light. As the structure might have to be moved at some stage, I designed it as an 'Ikea' package, so that we can take it apart and rebuild it somewhere else.
