Sensory Playground - Braveheart

Building Trust International was asked for the Design and Construction of a bamboo shaded playground for the children of Bravehearts. The geometric shape of a 6 star references to the lotus flowers that are common in the fields around the school. The bamboo was sourced locally and with a team of 10 local contractors that were trained on site to work with this renewable material and as a sustainable building technique.
This was my first project after I arrived in Cambodia. My role was to develop a concept and translate this concept design into design development in a way that I could also build it with my teammembers in the field. Me and a colleague were responsible for the site management during the build. Project Architect: David Cole.
